Company Overview
United Space Alliance was formed in 1995 as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Boeing to provide spaceflight services to NASA. The company was responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Space Shuttle program, as well as support for the International Space Station. United Space Alliance employed thousands of engineers, technicians, and mission support personnel across the United States. Despite successful missions and accomplishments, the Space Shuttle program was retired in 2011, and United Space Alliance was forced to lay off much of its workforce. Today, the company continues to provide engineering and technical support services to NASA and the space industry.
